Large pharmaceutical companies are the surprising opponents of cannabis and its research. They have been making a fortune on their drugs. Cannabis and its medical applications are seen as a threat to their obsene profits. This video looks at the business of treating cancer. Like in every other part of life, the profit motive, left unchecked pollutes our way of life.
Peace and loving blessings to all cancer patients. We need urgent research into cannabis to test its cancer fighting properties. We need brave doctors and scientists that have the best interests of the patients at heart. We need change. We need each of us to make a difference.
Just outside the beautiful city of Florence the Italian army are busy turning a laboratory into a large-scale cannabis growing space. They are doing this so the sick can get medicine. Why don’t we take a step back at this point and have a look at the bigger picture. Deep breath, sun sparkling off golden buildings, and exhale. If a foreign nation comes and attacks Italy, the soldiers are going to lay down their lives in the protection of their nation. In natural disaster situations, it is the army that goes to save people from danger. So when I read that the army is growing cannabis so sick people can access the medicinal plant at lower prices than the street drug dealers, it makes me sick to my stomach that we are still struggling with the issue of pot being illegal.
THE ARMY ARE GROWING IT !!!! How a careerist police officer or politician can keep a straight face as they waste tax payers money enforcing this ridiculous prohibition on one of mother nature’s most special plants I will never know. Governments want to remain in control. They have a system of authority that they do not want to give up. People want marijuana, to smoke or medicate with and they don’t care if it is legal or illegal. Instead of having governments that serve the people we see the system attacking personal freedoms for the simple protection of their authority.
In addition to the preservation of their authority governments are also bribed by big business so they do what is most profitable for those businesses. Pharmaceutical companies are directly threatened by the medicinal properties in cannabis. From cancer to a headache the plant has properties that help the human animal when it is sick. In America, states with medical marijuana have seen a 25% reduction in deaths from pain medication over doses. As marijuana is further studied we will get to know the exact medicinal benefit of the plant and instead of buying from greedy, snarling profit obsessed companies, we can grow a plant ourselves or join a collective that can grow it. This is a huge step away from needing big business and big government.
I am proud to see the Italian army taking a step to help their people. The debate about marijuana being a dangerous plant is dead. The pro marijuana side just needs the public to be aware of the facts. The Italian army have a duty to protect their people. A duty they take far more seriously than the corrupt politicians that are trying to continue the lie about pot. Today I am Italian and I gratefully salute the Italian army for their shinning example.
In the future medicine will be about prevention of illness rather than treating illnesses. People that eat healthier and exercise regularly live longer happier lives. I can imagine cannabis being an essential part of peoples diets as they live to prevent illness. The evolution of society and human health means we must change our minds when presented with evidence. The authorities are acting directly in opposition to the well being of society because they do not like change. That is all well and good but what if you have epilepsy, chronic pain, cancer or Parkinson’s decease? Can you afford to wait for the well fed swines in government to make your medicine legal?
We need more people talking about the medicinal benefits of cannabis. We need more people like you to spread the word. The American movement is infectious, it is time we work with them to promote a better society that is lead by science and reason rather than old fashioned conservative instincts. Mother nature wants us to live in harmony with the planet, let us finally listen to her and promote the marijuana plant to its rightful place at the top of the medical food chain.
Scientific research carried out by the American government in 1974 showed the powerful cancer fighting ability of THC and other compounds within the plant. They have known since then that cannabis combats tumor growth and in some cases kills the cancerous cells altogether. There is a reason we instinctively don’t trust our governments, and this is the reason. Big pharmaceutical companies, who know they couldn’t get the complete patent for cannabis, bought and paid for the silence of politicians. We know that politicians have first and foremost, their own interests at heart, so if big business will give them election money and then a million dollar salary when they are voted out(usually over some scandal, like voting against the people’s wishes or interests) whose side do you think they are on? Not my mother in laws side, who has cancer. Not on the millions of people who have died from cancer or are currently suffering through chemotherapy.
Imagine if we had not just started working on cannabis research now, but began it in 1975. We would be a cancer free society. Great for us, terrible for the cancer industry. The cancer industry gets billions for cancer research, and as a friend who works in the industry says, there is a lot of research into stopping the growth of cancer, but very little into the curing of cancer. I hope you are mad as you read this because you should be. This is clear cut, profits before curing cancer.
Now let’s think outside the box a little. Who benefits from cannabis being illegal. First in the ghoulish queue is big pharmaceutical companies that make money from cancer and toxic pain drugs. They are ground zero. They paid their lobbyists who paid the politicians who told the people to go rot. Remember, cannabis is non toxic to humans. We can’t die from it, and with each passing day we are finding new research along with the old suppressed stuff that tells us it is a miracle plant.
After big pharmaceutical companies the alcohol industry benefit as they don’t have to deal with a serious threat to their profits. If I have the choice between drinking alcohol or smoking cannabis, I know which is healthier and more fun for my body. Cannabis wins and when it is legalized, it will shrink the alcohol industry the same way it shrinks cancer tumors. Next comes the policing industry. Locking up nonviolent people wasn’t enough. They developed, for profit prisons. Modern day slavery in the name of law and order. Anyone who ever smoked a joint had to deal with the threat of imprisonment.
So what can we do about all this? Well the first weapon is knowledge. Read up on the research and then get busy spreading the word. Cannabis is this generations ticket to a longer, happier, healthier life. We owe it to the next generations to stop the political rot now. The world will be better off with full cannabis legalization. Big pharma will suffer and they will fight with misinformation and legal means. The alcohol and policing industries likewise will fight us. Police who enforce the ban on cannabis are affecting the health of their own kids and grand kids. We are fighting for all humans to benefit, the other side are fighting for only their benefit at the expense of everyone else. We are bigger than big business and more compassionate than greedy political self-interest. We are the people, and we are now connected. It is time to get moving.
We shall not take good fortune for granted! The slow liberalization of pot is a good thing. A very good thing. People who use pot as medicine can now use an organic substance that is in sync with their bodies rather than handfuls of pills manufactured by giant, profit seeking pharmaceutical companies. For stoners, they get to chill with their chosen intoxicant without having the police foaming at the mouth. But the question remains, why is pot being slowly decriminalized?
I believe for the first time in history, governments are coming up against a public who, at the very least are collectively just as well informed as they are. People can freely and easily find scientific data on cannabis. We know that cannabis can affect your short term memory. We also know that it can make you feel pleasantly high, giddy, social, paranoid, happy, focused on the now, and a whole host of other health benefits. From personal experience, a heavy night’s smoking doesn’t come with a hangover the next day which goes a long way to suggest it is not a toxic substance to our bodies. The government line that it is unhealthy and evil doesn’t ring true. And for the first time in this generation’s history, we are calling bullshit on our respective governments. Oh what a beautiful thing! Finally standing up as a people!
Governments throughout history hide behind their claimed special knowledge, now wikileaks and other sites unveil our leaders and their crooked ways. If you take it that people in American have been smoking pot since the hippy 60s and yet it has only been in the last five to ten years that we have really taken steps to push our governments to legalize pot, then you would have to be blind not to see the real power the internet has given us! We are in the midst of a gentle world wide web social evolution.
There is still a lot of work to be done. Governments are not used to being told what to do, so we will have hiccups along the way but eventually, our generation should be able to run itself through organized, genuine, social pressure. What a wonderfully enlightened state. Hopefully that means we can start living with the planet rather than being like a cancer plague on it. We have a collective voice that we are starting to use. If that isn’t a reason to pack a peace pipe and toast humanity, then I don’t know what is!!!
